Recently opened last summer, the Sofitel Downtown Dubai is one of the newest hotels on the block featuring awesome new dining experiences, modern features and rooms with “in your face” views of the Burj Khalifa.
Dubai is an exciting place to visit. It’s a city that is experiencing such new growth and it seems as if everyone wants to be a part of this journey to create something new and grand to see. The architectural designs of the buildings are reason enough to visit. We couldn’t wait to explore this city for a second time.
While at the resort we enquired about the very private three bedroom villa on the island. The Four Seasons prides itself on keeping the identity of all guest private during their stay. The house is currently the largest villa in the Maldives. We were fortunate enough to get a tour of this amazing beachfront villa, before the next guests arrived.
The Spa at Landaa is pure bliss. We decided to book one of the Ayruvedic spa treatments offered. First we scheduled the complimentary 30 minute Ayurvedic wellness consultation. This was a great experience!
The Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru has several restaurants on their property. The quality of the food, and the service by every member of the staff was very impressive. Every meal was incredible. We were told there is a garden on the island, where many vegetables they serve are grown. We decided to take the breakfast and dinner package. This made our dining decisions very simple. You pay in advance, then order off the menu, choosing anything you like.
Nothing can prepare you for the service provided at the Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru. This is what we expect from a five star hotel with a history of excellent customer service. Reading about it is one thing. Experiencing it first hand is another. Bravo Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru, you’ve outdone yourself.
The Taj Mahal, a wonder of the world. This was the reason for our trip to India. As we approached the city of Agra, seeing the Taj Mahal in the distance for the first time, our behavior became childlike, giddy with excitement. The mausoleum was commissioned at the request of Mughal emperor Shan Jahan, in memory of his third and favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal is said to be the finest example of Indian, Islamic, Persian, and Ottoman Turkish styles of architecture. The Taj Mahal was spectacular, better than we could have imagined. Seeing it with our own eyes was a longtime dream finally fulfilled.
Here are some of the items that you should have when traveling to India:
-Bottled water: drink plenty to stay hydrate
-Hand sanitizer
-Sun lotion: remember to reapply throughout the day
-Tissues
-Wipes
-Evian spray: spray on your face before reapplying sun lotion
-Odomos: the hotel had it available for us. It is a mosquito repellent in a cream form that smells great, is safe for kids (no deet) and available all over India.
We also packed probiotics (which we took everyday), Pepto Bismol, Imodium, antibiotics, Germ Fighter inhaler and mosquito repellent that contains deet.
Remember to consult a doctor before you travel to answer your questions and make specific recommendations for you.
Safe travels!
